This set of four prints features grape varietals that are used to make wine: Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. They were created by the company Editions du Marronnier, located in the French village of Montboucher-sur-Jabron, nestled in vineyards and chestnut trees. The firm has been in business for more than 30 years, creating retro and vintage designed décor inspired by French culture.
Each print displays a bunch of grapes and leaves set against a pale taupe "wall" drawn with old splits and cracks. The name of the type of grape is printed in brown in an antique font on a strip of "parchment." The print is under glass, surrounded with a 1 3/8 inch wide wooden frame that was painted white and then distressed. (Please note that the color of the exposed wood is a bit lighter than in our photos, more like a medium pine color.)
The framed size is 10 inches high by 8 inches wide and 1 inch thick. Each weighs 1 pound 5 ounces and has a sawtooth hanger on the back, along with the editions du marronnier label (which translated means "editions of the chestnut tree") which fittingly has a chestnut tree leaf on it.
Hanging all four of the prints in a classic four square grid arrangement makes a beautiful display, but they could certainly be hung in a horizontal row or separately throughout the room instead. They add a graphic French country touch anywhere they're hung.
