This handsome tin coffee pot was hand painted with Pennsylvania style folk art tole designs. The matte black base color emphasizes the mustard gold and pale red floral decoration on the front. The lid, spout and handle are all decorated and there is a painted band above the flat foot rim. The back was left plain, in the tradition of early painted. It's signed "Geo Burton" in his flourished script. His tole pieces pop up for sale, but little is known about him. We believe that he painted in the 1950's, when there was a "Colonial Revival" in home decor.

The decorative coffee pot stands 8 inches tall to the top of the curled knob on the lid, measures 9 1/2 inches across from the pointed spout to the strap handle and has a base 6 inches in diameter. The lid isn't attached and is easily removed. The coffee pot weighs 10 ounces and is in very good condition. It has some missing flecks of paint and also a narrow strip of it missing at the far-right edge of the front tole painted design (shown in our photos). There is no damage to the pot.

For those of us who love tole painting and folk art, this coffee pot is a great find.
