This large vintage wooden horse on wheels is a charming piece made in a folk art, country farmhouse style. The length of the horse is 17 inches, mounted on a 19 inch long, 1/4-inch-thick wood platform. Four 2-inch diameter iron wheels are mounted at the ends of the platform, secured with black screws. To the top of the horse's ears measures 10 1/2 inches in height and the piece is 4 1/4 inches wide from wheel edge to wheel edge. It weighs 2 pounds 6 ounces and in excellent condition, clean and ready to decorate any room that you choose.
The galloping off-white horse shows the marks of the carving tool and is lightly distressed. It's mounted on the barn red platform and the wheels are rusty (but not flaking) and roll easily. His knotted tail is made of strands of jute. All in all, a very appealing steed!
