Named for the seventeenth-century King Charles II of England, the elegant Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has long been the subject of statues and figurines. This Staffordshire style standing spaniel is charming. She stands 12 inches tall, with her front paws braced on a skirted green ottoman. Hand painted on realistically molded fur, she's wearing a pink ribbon tied in a bow around her neck. Pink tongue protruding and eyes wide, her eager expression is so characteristic of these adorable dogs.
This glossy statue stands a full 12 inches tall and, although hollow, weighs a sturdy 4 pounds. Across the bottom, from foot to outermost edge of the ottoman, she measure 8 inches and she's about 5 1/2 inches front to back, also measured at the bottom. Her black and white coat was given a light wash of brown "antique" glaze and the bottom of both the feet and the ottoman have round rubber protector pads. She is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or crazing. This statue's a wonderful find for the dog lover and for those who enjoy English décor.
