This large, handsome hammered copper tray was meant to hang on the wall, but does sit flat for display and can also be propped on a shelf. Hand made of heavy gauge, high quality copper, this round tray features a rippled rim with indented scallops, multiple hammered motifs such as ridges and ovals and eight beautifully- cut arched leaves mounted along the edges. The center is dished and has hammered designs, also. It's deep enough (about 1/2 inch) to hold some fruit or nuts if you wish.
The tray measures approximately 15 1/4 inches in diameter and weighs about 1 3/4 pounds. It's unsigned, but by a very talented coppersmith. In superb condition, with a tiny amount of fine scratches and speckles on the surfaces, hard to see without examining it very closely. There is a hanging hook on the back, welded on and sturdy, with a 3/16 inch diameter hole for a nail or screw. It's a wonderful piece of decorative hammered copper that works so well in so many interiors amd is especially perfect in the Craftsman style home.
