This is an absolutely pristine example of Bavarian porcelain, made by Winterling in Marktleuthen, Bavaria. The green printed mark on the bottom was used by the company starting around 1950 until they replaced it with a newer mark in 1970. The pattern is WIG1363, pure white porcelain with a gold rim on the underplate and a brocaded gold upper rim on the mayo bowl. Below that is a row of deep blue scalloping and then a row of pink roses interspersed with a design of tiny ovals and dots. They were probably meant to represent tassels on the points of the blue scallops.

This mayo bowl holds about 1 1/2 cups and measures 4 3/4 inches across the top. The attached underplate has a 6 3/4 inch diameter and the piece stands about 3 inches high overall. The condition is truly like new, with only a small amount of rubbing on the unglazed bottom rims. The gold in particular is in excellent shape. This beautiful piece of porcelain was probably a cabinet piece and possibly never used.
