Edwardian Woman Photo in Shell Frame

Edwardian Woman Photo in Shell Frame

shell photo frame front view.jpg

This serious-looking young woman is wearing lovely Edwardian white clothing circa 1900-1910. This black-and-white photograph was probably taken to celebrate a special event in her life.

The frame was hand-made by gluing dozens of seashells onto a laminated cardboard frame. The frame itself was commercially made and dates from a later period than the photograph.

The shells are very firmly affixed to the frame. In fact, the glue has hardened over the years to something resembling cement.
