Wooden Rectangular Tray or Shelf Hand Made With Fretwork Curlicues
This hand made woodenware piece in the Victorian fretwork style is very versatile; it can be used as both a tray/bowl or a display shelf/platform. Victorian fretwork was usually pretty elaborate, while the gingerbread on this is much more restrained and simplified, more in tune with country and primitive furnishings. Stained a dark brown, with no top finish except possibly some oil, it measures 14 inches long, 6 inches wide and 3 1/8 inches high. The woodworker left some rough edges inside the curves, but otherwise it's in very nice vintage condition and looks great however it's used.
