    This spectacular, impressively large pitcher was made from unglazed, tan Mexican clay, probably in Acapulco. Standing over 14 inches tall with a belly 8 inches across (26 inches in circumference), it weighs 3 pounds 10 ounces. It features a high arched handle, a scooped flared spout and a 5/8 inch high foot rimmed by four black lines. 

    Hand painted in flat matte cobalt blue and white with black accents, the "fantasia style" motifs feature a peacock with his tail fanned out on each side of the pitcher, surrounded by flowers, leaves, scrolls, and geometric figures. The artistic folk art painting is striking and masterful, making this piece the center of attraction wherever it's displayed. The pitcher is in pristine condition, unmarked as to maker and possesses all the charm and gaiety of a mariachi sombrero. ¡Olé!
