The pattern on this pitcher is called Juniper and was made from 1988 to 2007. It has a dark green body with ombre stripes and two white bands with blue, green and red brushstrokes. The interior and the bottom are plain white ceramic covered with a very glossy clear glaze, as is the exterior. The bottom has the Gail Pittman signature in green, along with '97 and copyright (mark) 88. (So, the design was copyrighted in 1988 and the pitcher was produced in 1997. But you got that, didn't you?)
Gail Pittman is a well-known Jackson, Mississippi artist who has created many original designs for her home decor and ceramics. She was creative director for Southern Living at Home for 5 years; at one time, her company was the largest producer of hand painted pottery in the U.S.
The pitcher is 8 inches tall, 7 inches from spout to handle, 5 inches front to back and it weighs a substantial 2 1/4 pounds. It's in outstanding condition, with just 2 pinpoint losses of the green paint where it meets the white interior on the upper rim. Not only is this pitcher beautiful, it's ready to serve drinks whenever you are.
