This exquisite Murano glass vase was mouth blown by artists at the Laguna Murano Glass Factory in Venice, Italy. According to their website they are "... one of the lagoon’s biggest and most famous artistic glass firms." They are classified as a Vetreria Artistica, which means Artistic Glassworks in Italian. The facade of Laguna Murano is pictured in one of the photos. The vase retains their original foil label on the bottom that reads “Laguna Murano Glass Venezia”'
The clear emerald green of the vase is overlaid with 24 karat gold arabesque designs and gold bands at the top and bottom. It stands 5 inches tall, with a 2 inch diameter mouth and a 1 3/4 inch diameter base. The oval shape on the upper rim in the photos is an illusion created by the reflection of the green glass onto the gold. Similarly, there are some brownish spots on the gold which are also reflections, except in photograph # 3 (the one where the vase is on its side), which are actual spots of wear on the bottom rim. The vase is otherwise in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or other wear. It displays beautifully singly or as part of a collection.
