This stretchered giclee print on canvas is a copy of an 1875 painting entitled “A Vase of Peonies” by Camille Pissarro (1830-1903), the artist known as “The Father of Impressionism.” The original of this painting is in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, England and is pictured in our fifth photograph. It is signed lower right: C Pissarro 1875.
This copy measures 14 inches by 18 inches by ¾ inch, smaller than the original and the colors are a bit lighter as well. It’s in lovely condition with wrapped edges and can, of course, be framed if you choose to do so. A great example of Impressionism, it seems to complement country furnishings as well as more formal ones.
