Arlene Fisher Folk Art Signed Print
* Vintage Item
Award-winning artist Arlene Fisher (1937-2019) began painting in 1971, creating scenes of the countryside around her old farmhouse in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The Amish people there often inspire her artwork. “I go to the countryside and sketch from inside my car,” she has said. "My technique is to have lots of details. I have to tell a little story."
This is a limited print of one of Mrs. Fisher's paintings, number 105 of 500; she hand signed it in pencil in the lower right margin. It's a lovely pastoral scene, with sheep, cows, barns, a horse and buggy and even a scarecrow. In the center of the painting, in front of the house with the windmill behind it, is a mailbox with the name "Fisher" printed on it.
The frame is wide, flat, rustic brown wood. The print size is 10 1/2 by 13 1/2 inches, including the margins. The framed size is 13 3/4 by 16 3/4; the print is under glass and weighs a little over two pounds. There's a sawtooth hanger on the back. Everything is in excellent condition.
>>>The Ocean City NJ Boardwalk Art Show named its Best of Show Award in Mrs. Fisher's honor since she participated longer than anyone else. We've included a 2017 photo of her with her husband Bill at her 45th show; note the painting hanging upper right on the screen to the far left.
