OVERVIEW

  • Vintage item

This tankard shaped pitcher was made at a Vermont pottery called P & P Fuller Ent. (Enterprises) in Passumpsic, a town in the "Northeast Kingdom," a nickname given for the area's beauty and quality of life. Definitely made in the spirit of the slightly more famous Bennington Pottery of Vermont, the white clay body of this pitcher has a high arched handle, eight panels, a nicely shaped spout and is sponged with green. There's a glossy clear top glaze inside and out, including on the exterior bottom. The white paper label on the bottom, printed in black and fixed on very securely with cellophane tape, reads:

MADE IN VERMONT'S NORTHEAST KINGDOM
LAST STAND OF THE YANKEES
P&P FULLER ENT.
PASSUMPSIC, VERMONT
748-3067

The pitcher stands 5 inches tall, measures 4 1/2 inches from handle to spout and has a 3 inch diameter octagonal base. It's in excellent condition and probably best as a shelf sitter, rather than in use for liquids.
