Burl Carved Sculpture With Natural Edge - Bear

This handsome bear was artfully carved from a natural tree burl with a beautiful grain. It takes a keen eye to see the potential in a burl knot, to be inspired by the form, and the artist that created this figure used it to excellent advantage. The raw, dark underside of the bear, where the burl grew, was left in its natural state. The hand carved details really bring the bear to life.

The sculpture measures 2 1/2 inches tall to his nose, 5 1/4 inches long from the tip of his nose to his "tail" and 4 3/4 inches across at the widest point. In excellent condition, the wood has not been stained or given a top coat. Both collectors and decorators will love owning this sculpture.
