This gorgeous bowl vase was hand blown by eminent glass artist Daniel Edler of Cedarville, Illinois. Part of one of his nine named art glass lines, this is entitled "Floral Sparkle," from the Metallic Sparkle Series. A deep olive green brushed with amber, the round vase has a classic, simple shape and is encircled by a shining silver raised floral design connected by loops and swirls. As it's turned, different variations appear. The mark on the bottom, hand etched in script, reads "Daniel Edler 1989 © "Floral Sparkle" 150524." The writing is centered above the partially polished oval pontil scar.
Dan Edler has been creating studio art glass for over 50 years; his latest art exhibit was in June-August 2018 at the Monroe Art Center, Monroe, Wisconsin. He both makes his own glass and creates his own colors, so each piece is unique. This bowl weighs 1 pound 10 ounces, measures 6 inches wide and 4 1/2 inches tall and has a 20 inch circumference. It's in excellent condition, with the characteristic tiny bubbles of hand blown glass and virtually no wear. We've included a photo of Daniel Edler, who is widely admired and whose beautiful art is avidly collected. This is an opportunity to own one of his vintage pieces.
