This lovely antique porcelain plate was created in Limoges, France by La Porcelaine Limousine circa 1909. The company was founded by Joseph Redon and P. Jouhanneaud and his son about 1905 and was in business until about 1938. The stamped green mark on the bottom has an underlined PL over LIMOGES FRANCE and was used throughout the years the company was in business for whitewares that were not painted by their in-house artists. Typically, these pieces were decorated by American china painters, as we believe this one was. It's hand signed "O. Klenovek" and dated '09. The colorful pansies and their foliage and the background ombré shading are all expertly painted.
This dished plate measures 7 1/2 inches across and 3/4 inch high. It is in superb condition with virtually no wear, obviously having been a cabinet plate for the last 110 years. It is a pretty find for your cabinet and your collection of Limoges porcelain.
