This gorgeous modernist ceramic bowl was hand made by noted ceramic artist Sylvia Fugmann Brongo of Cave Creek, Arizona. Her pieces are formed by using a rolling pin to flatten thin sheets of clay. She applies surface details, including piercing like she did on this piece, and then drapes the clay over a form to shape it. The pieces are fired in a 2100˙ F. kiln and then airbrushed with glazes and stains. This sculptural bowl, like her other clay items, is completely hand made and a one of a kind original.
This bowl measures approximately 10 inches by 9 inches and about 4 1/2 inches tall at the highest point. It weighs 1 1/2 pounds and is in excellent condition, with no damage or flaws. It's a beautiful, unique studio pottery piece by a very talented ceramic artist.
